I said in 1997, in a moment of exaltation my seventy-fifth anniversary of the creation of Easter Monday that I had asked the Guild to this day, I remembered a verse now:
All the neighborhood is like a ring, edging
sun.

But the work of Christ Redeemer
was from here.
Do you know this neighborhood for centuries
that this is so? ... Yes, sir.
whole neighborhood is like a sun arena
edging that is waiting for
look tawdry fringes.
That is waiting to leave,
all made light and splendor, the Virgen del Rocío
,
without the walk or the drum, without the tapestry
Almonte,
without the rocket and flower
and without ringing or tinkling silver
prayer.
But with class and panache
Because it is the Mother of God, because it is divine beauty
in penitent corner.
whole neighborhood became an arena
beaded sun when the light of Heaven came
of Santiago.
Fifty years since this first procession under a canopy of Our Lady of Rocio in Penitence Station. (How time flies!)
To commemorate this happy event, the Governing Board of the Brotherhood has scheduled a series of events starting Monday 7 February, at nine o'clock at night in the church of Santiago "Building a dream: a canopy for the Blessed Virgin of the Dew", round table by brothers who were part of that first outing of the year 1961: Alfonso Jaramillo Gonzalez, Fernando Baquero Yruela Santor and Manuel Rojas.
