Twins And Heavy Implantation

richer and jazz: Beat literature

By Liliana Calderón

This year I decided to take the issue of Beat literature . It is interesting to know some of the most representative works of this current, which would give the name to a generation that was responsible for being part of the nightmare (along with the Communists) of the conservative American society. Were characterized by love jazz, live life as it was approaching and some experimenting with drugs.

On the Road by Jack Kerouac. The work beat more representative. Novel narrates the travels of the U.S. coast to coast to Mexico and the characters are just trying to live life.

Allen Ginsberg's Howl. Poem published in 1957, banned the same year by reference to topics such as drugs and homosexuality.

comunicacionalternativa3

Naked Lunch by William Burroughs. Novel published in 1959 where drugs play a vital role in achieving real and travel to places others less so.

Gregory Corso Petrol. Collection of poems written by the author's youngest Beat circle, which are inspired by his travels to Mexico with Ginsberg.
