The brothers Arellano Felix. following the capture of Guadalajara Cartel leader, it was separated into two major cartels, the Tijuana Cartel and the Sinaloa Cartel. Beltran Leyva brothers, who were initially important part of the Sinaloa Cartel, rebelled against Chapo Guzman after the arrest of Alfredo Beltran Leyva, after a bloody feud that was conducted at Sinaloa. Later they allied with the Zetas, who were hired for the Gulf Cartel. The latter's influence extends to our state.
Los Zetas. Originally members of the Zetas were military elite forces trained by U.S. and Israeli military. Arturo Guzman Decena recruited military experts to work with Osiel Cardenas Guillen, Gulf Cartel leader. Following the arrest of Cardenas were separated from the latter and agreed with the Sinaloa Cartel.
Ismael El Mayo Zambada. In conjunction with the Beltran Leyva brothers, the Mayo Zambada is the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel. Unlike previous Zambada maintains a relatively low profile in what has evaded arrest for more thirty years. According to government sources, the Mayo has used plastic surgery to change his identity.
